Lyophilization (freeze-drying) removes water from a compound while preserving its molecular structure. The result is a dry powder that is extremely stable at room temperature during transit and storage at −20°C long-term.
Lyophilized compounds must be reconstituted with bacteriostatic water before use in research protocols. This process restores the compound to its active liquid form.
Always use bacteriostatic water (BAC water) — not regular sterile water, distilled water, or tap water.
Bacteriostatic water contains 0.9% benzyl alcohol which prevents bacterial growth and extends the stability of reconstituted compounds for weeks when refrigerated. Regular sterile water has no preservative and degrades quickly after opening.
Crucible Peptides carries both 3mL and 10mL Reconstitution Water — bacteriostatic, USP grade, ready to use.
General reconstitution process for research purposes:
1. Allow vial to come to room temperature before opening
2. Using a sterile syringe, draw the desired amount of bacteriostatic water
3. Insert the needle through the rubber stopper of the peptide vial at an angle — do not aim directly at the powder
4. Slowly release the water down the side of the vial — never force it directly onto the powder
5. Gently swirl — do not shake — until the powder is fully dissolved
6. Store reconstituted vial in the refrigerator at 2-8°C
The amount of water added determines the concentration of the reconstituted solution. Common research protocol is to add enough water to achieve a concentration that makes measurement and administration convenient.
For example — a 10mg peptide vial reconstituted with 2mL of BAC water yields a concentration of 5mg/mL (5000mcg/mL). Adding 1mL yields 10mg/mL. The math is: total mg ÷ mL added = mg/mL concentration.
Research protocols will specify the target concentration — reconstitute accordingly.
Not necessarily. Some compounds dissolve slowly. Gently swirl the vial — never shake — and allow it to sit at room temperature for 5-10 minutes before checking again.
GHK-Cu naturally turns blue-teal when reconstituted — this is the copper and is completely normal. NAD+ may have a slight yellow tint — also normal.

Store all lyophilized (unreconstituted) compounds at −20°C in your freezer. Keep away from light and moisture.
Properly stored lyophilized compounds are stable for 24+ months. Never store in a frost-free freezer — the temperature cycling can degrade peptides over time.
Always refer to your specific vial label for storage instructions.
Once reconstituted, store vials in the refrigerator at 2-8°C — not the freezer. Keep away from light.
Reconstituted peptides in bacteriostatic water are generally stable for 4-6 weeks when refrigerated. Some compounds have shorter windows — research the specific compound you are working with.
Never refreeze a reconstituted vial — freeze-thaw cycles degrade peptide integrity.
Lyophilized peptides are significantly more heat-stable than liquid peptides. Brief exposure to ambient or elevated temperatures during shipping typically does not degrade lyophilized compounds.

Once received, move compounds to the freezer immediately.
Yes — NAD+ is particularly light sensitive. Store the vial wrapped in foil or in a dark container at −20°C. Minimize light exposure during reconstitution as well.
Once reconstituted, use as quickly as practical and keep refrigerated in a light-protected container.
A Certificate of Analysis is a document from an independent laboratory confirming the identity, purity, and quality of a compound for a specific production lot.
A legitimate COA includes the compound name, lot number, test date, testing methodology, and results for each panel tested. It should be issued by a third-party independent laboratory — not the manufacturer or supplier.
All Crucible Peptides COAs are issued by our cGMP-certified independent testing laboratory and are lot-specific — meaning each batch has its own unique COA tied to the lot number on your vial.
Every Crucible Peptides compound is tested across 6 panels:
1. Qualitative ID (UV-Vis) — confirms the compound is what it claims to be by matching its spectral signature to a reference standard
2. Percent Purity (HPLC) — confirms ≥99% purity via high-performance liquid chromatography
3. Quantitative Assay (Beer-Lambert) — confirms the compound is present at the labeled quantity ±5%
4. Heavy Metals (ICP-MS) — confirms total heavy metals are below 20 ppb (parts per billion)
5. TAMC — Total Aerobic Microbial Count confirmed within USP limits
6. TYMC — Total Yeast & Mold Count confirmed within USP limits

Purity directly determines the quality of your research data. A compound at 80% purity means 20% of what you’re working with is unknown — potentially other peptides, synthesis byproducts, solvents, or contaminants.
Research conducted with impure compounds produces unreliable, potentially invalid results. Crucible’s ≥99% purity standard ensures the compound you research is the compound you think you’re researching.
DAC (Drug Affinity Complex) is a modification that extends the half-life of CJC-1295 significantly — from minutes to over a week. This creates a continuous, steady GH elevation rather than a pulsatile release.
CJC-1295 No DAC (also called Modified GRF 1-29) has a shorter half-life and produces pulsatile GH release that more closely mimics the body’s natural pattern. It is typically paired with a GHRP like Ipamorelin and administered multiple times daily in research protocols.
Crucible carries CJC-1295 No DAC — preferred in most research protocols for its physiological GH release pattern.
GHK-Cu (Copper Peptide) contains a copper ion as part of its molecular structure. Copper compounds naturally appear blue or teal in solution — this is the copper, not a contamination or degradation.
A blue-teal reconstituted GHK-Cu solution is completely normal and indicates the copper is properly bound to the peptide. Clear GHK-Cu solution after reconstitution may indicate incomplete dissolution — swirl gently and allow more time.
Yes — Crucible’s 5-Amino-1MQ is in lyophilized form and requires reconstitution with bacteriostatic water prior to use in research protocols. Standard SubQ administration after reconstitution.
No — Crucible’s B12 (Methylcobalamin) is Ready to Use. No reconstitution required. Draw directly from the vial for use in research protocols.
All three are GHRH analogues — they stimulate GH release by mimicking Growth Hormone Releasing Hormone. The differences are in potency, half-life, and research profile:
Sermorelin — 29 amino acids. Shortest half-life. Most physiological GH release pattern. Longest research history. Used in longer, lower-frequency protocols.
CJC-1295 No DAC — Modified GRF 1-29. Slightly longer half-life than Sermorelin. Most commonly paired with Ipamorelin for pulsatile GH research.
Tesamorelin — 44 amino acids. Most potent of the three. Most clinical data. Studied specifically for metabolic, body composition, skin collagen, and bone density research outcomes.

The short answer: independent testing, lot-specific documentation, and cGMP manufacturing cost money. Vendors selling at half the price are cutting somewhere — and in this space, what gets cut is almost always quality verification.

cGMP certified manufacturing — the same standard used in pharmaceutical production. Cheaper compounds are frequently synthesized in unregulated environments with no quality controls on raw materials, equipment, or process.

The research peptide market has no shortage of bad actors. Here are the red flags to watch for:
Prices that seem too good to be true — they usually are. Quality synthesis, independent testing, and cGMP manufacturing have real costs. If a vendor is selling BPC-157 at $30-40, something in that chain has been cut. Usually it’s testing.
Generic or missing COAs — a legitimate COA is lot-specific, issued by a named independent laboratory, and includes an HPLC chromatogram showing the actual peak. A COA that shows only a purity number with no chromatogram cannot be independently verified. A COA that doesn’t match the lot number on your vial is meaningless.
Self-issued testing — vendor COAs that come from the manufacturer’s own lab, not a third-party independent laboratory, create an obvious conflict of interest. There is no independent verification that what they tested is what they shipped.
No physical address or contact information — legitimate businesses have publicly listed addresses and responsive customer service. Anonymous vendors with only a contact form and a Telegram channel are a significant risk.
Aggressive discounting and flash sales — vendors running constant 40-60% off promotions are either operating on razor-thin quality standards or training customers that the real price is the discounted price. Neither is good.
No age verification or RUO compliance language — a vendor selling research compounds without proper RUO disclaimers, age verification, and compliance language is not operating as a legitimate research supplier. This is a signal about how seriously they take their entire operation.
Too-new or anonymous online presence — scam operations set up quickly, collect orders, and disappear. Look for established vendors with verifiable history, community reputation on r/Peptides, and documented track records.
No lot number on the vial — if there’s no lot number on your vial there’s no way to verify the COA applies to your specific product. This is a fundamental documentation failure.
